How long can you keep a record sealed before cutting into wood, more or less?
I know it can vary between species and I know it will work with the red and white oak, cherry, walnut and hickory. I'm building a solar oven in the late summer or fall but I am finding the raw logs now. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Records must be made as soon as possible after felling to prevent the registration development of a shake (a division of the cortex to the spinal cord that runs the length of the session). You can move the wood dry air in a solar oven that do not end with records that are largely useless. I had a small trunk of willow, 10 "diameter x 4" long that I was not cut wood drying and that sealed the ends with a thick layer of wax and let it sit, within 4 months developed a milkshake. My recommendation would be to the board factory wood in the now, the battery with stickers to provide airflow and covered with a tarp, then transfer to oven when you get to build.
