My doors and windows of the warp, due to wet the wood before being painted?
My builder installed sapelli doors and windows that had not been prepared (ie bare wood). The wood is wet. The door will warp? And the wood is irreversibly damaged? Kind regards 1. Doors are solid wood, not veneer. 2. It's very humid here (Bristol, UK) so you will have enough time to dry the water has soaked into the wood 3. I will ask builders to erect a semi-permanent "tent" on the doors and windows to help dry Thanks all
If you mean a storm drenched rain and water has on all of them or are sitting in a puddle of water? Install and wet with rain, and let it completely dry will be fine as long as no water standing on the sills, etc. If possible get a big fan of stock and / or a dehumidifier to inside the house before painting to ensure it is completely dry before painting. Not only the painting hold moisture, which will keep the moisture in the wood under the paint. Sitting in a pool before installing, make new ones, is to blame builders.
